Allison & Kevin | Cut Above Event Center Wedding | Michigan Wedding Photographer

I met Allison and Kevin last fall during their engagement session, and from our very first meeting, it felt like we had known each other forever. They were so easy to talk to, full of laughter, and completely comfortable with each other. Their session was one of those evenings that reminded me why I love getting to know my couples before the wedding day.
By the end of their engagement session, I couldn't wait to photograph their wedding.

The Wedding Morning

June 5 finally arrived.
Their wedding was at Cut Above Event Center, and Allison had dreamed of getting married outside. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. Rain fell for most of the day, and like every couple with an outdoor ceremony planned, we spent the morning checking weather updates and hoping for a break.

Trusting the Forecast

As ceremony time got closer, we noticed something exciting. Around 4:00 p.m., the forecast showed about a 30-minute break in the rain.
It wasn't guaranteed, but it was enough.
Allison and Kevin decided to trust it and move forward with the outdoor ceremony they had envisioned.
Sometimes taking the chance is exactly the right decision.

Their Dream Ceremony

Their dream came true.
They exchanged vows outside surrounded by their family and friends without a drop of rain falling during the ceremony. It felt like everything paused just long enough for them to have the wedding they had imagined.
Watching their smiles throughout the ceremony made every weather update worth it.

Racing the Rain

As soon as the ceremony ended, we moved quickly into family portraits.
Right as we finished, it started sprinkling. We were able to get everyone safely inside before the rain really started again.
The timing honestly couldn't have worked out any better.

My Favorite Part of Their Day

One of the things I'll remember most about Allison and Kevin is how calm they stayed throughout the day.
They never let the weather steal their joy. Instead, they focused on each other.
Watching the way they smiled, laughed, and looked at one another reminded me what a wedding day is really about. Perfect weather is wonderful, but a strong relationship is what truly makes a wedding unforgettable.

Dancing the Night Away

Once everyone was inside, the celebration continued exactly as it should.
Family, friends, laughter, dancing, and so many memories made. Even though the forecast wasn't what anyone hoped for, the day ended up being absolutely perfect for them.
Congratulations, Allison & Kevin!
