1. Have a Detailed Timeline – and Stick to It!

A well-planned wedding timeline is key to keeping everything on track. Work with your planner, photographer, and other vendors to create a schedule that allows plenty of buffer time between events. Unexpected delays can happen, so having extra time built into your timeline can keep things from feeling rushed.

2. Do a First Look (If You Want To)

A first look can be a beautiful, intimate moment between you and your partner before the ceremony. It not only calms nerves but also allows you to get many of your portraits done early, freeing up more time to enjoy your reception..

3. Prep an Emergency Kit

Having a wedding day emergency kit can be a lifesaver! Include items like safety pins, stain remover, tissues, a mini sewing kit, bobby pins, deodorant, and pain relievers. You never know when you’ll need a quick fix.

4. Assign a “Point Person”

Instead of fielding a million questions on your big day, assign a trusted friend, family member, or wedding coordinator to handle any last-minute details or issues that arise. This way, you can focus on soaking in the joy of the day.

5. Eat and Hydrate!

With all the excitement, couples often forget to eat! Make sure you have a light meal before the ceremony and stay hydrated throughout the day. This will help keep your energy up and prevent any fainting spells.

6. Break in Your Shoes

The last thing you want is aching feet before the first dance! Wear your wedding shoes around the house a few times before the big day to break them in and prevent blisters.

7. Plan for Golden Hour Photos

Golden hour (the hour before sunset) provides the most dreamy, romantic lighting for photos. If possible, plan some time during your reception to sneak away for these gorgeous shots—you won’t regret it!

8. Be Present and Enjoy the Moment

The day will fly by, so take moments to pause, breathe, and soak in everything around you. Don’t stress over tiny details—at the end of the day, what matters most is celebrating your love.

9. Don’t Skip the Private Last Dance

A private last dance is a beautiful way to wrap up your wedding day. It gives you and your partner a chance to share an intimate moment before the night ends, away from the crowd.

10. Trust Your Vendors

You’ve hired professionals to bring your vision to life—trust them! Your photographer, planner, and other vendors have experience in making wedding days flow beautifully, so let them handle the details while you enjoy your special day.

Planning a wedding is a big task, but with the right preparation and mindset, your wedding day will be everything you’ve dreamed of and more. Take these tips to heart, and remember—this day is about celebrating your love, so relax, have fun, and make unforgettable memories!
