Olivia & Noah’s South Haven Creations Wedding

Some couples just have something about them that you notice right away. For Olivia and Noah, it is the way they look at each other.

I booked their August 22, 2026 wedding early last summer, so I had been looking forward to this day for over a year. We had talked several times throughout the planning process, and after photographing their engagement session, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special.

And it absolutely was.

Their South Haven Engagement Session

I first really got to know Olivia and Noah during their engagement session in South Haven.

We spent time around South Haven and South Beach, and watching these two together was something special. You can see so much love and respect between them just by the way they look at each other.

Their engagement session was full of laughing, smiling and LOTS of running. LOL.

It was fun, relaxed and completely them. After that session, I was even more excited for their wedding day.

Then, after more than a year of waiting and planning, August 22 was finally here.

A Beautiful Wedding at South Haven Creations

Olivia and Noah chose South Haven Creations in South Haven, Michigan for their wedding.

It's such a cute venue tucked away with so much character, and it gave us a beautiful setting for their day.

The morning got off to a little bit of a slow start, but you honestly would have never known by looking at Olivia.

She stayed calm, kept smiling and took the time to actually enjoy what was happening around her.

Wedding mornings don't always go exactly according to the timeline. Hair takes longer. Makeup runs behind. Someone can't find something. It happens!

What matters is how you handle it.

Instead of letting it take over her morning, Olivia slowed down and enjoyed the moment. As a wedding photographer, I LOVE seeing that.

An Emotional First Look With Her Bridesmaids and Dad

Before the ceremony, we had a few surprises planned.

Olivia's bridesmaids hadn't seen her wedding dress yet, so we did a first look with them.

Their reactions were priceless.

Then it was Dad's turn.

There were definitely some tears—and thankfully, they were all happy ones.

These are some of my favorite moments to photograph on a wedding day because they happen so quickly. You've spent months choosing the dress and imagining the day, and then suddenly the people you love most are seeing you as a bride for the first time.

Those reactions are real.

And they're something Olivia will now have forever.

Olivia & Noah's First Look and Private Vows

Next came the moment I had been waiting for—the first look between Olivia and Noah.

We held their first look in the ceremony space, which was already set up beautifully for the day.

The sun was shining, it was definitely a little warm, but it was absolutely perfect.

They had a few quiet moments together before everything really got started. They exchanged vows and gifts and had a chance to focus on each other without all of their guests around them.

This is one of the reasons I love first looks.

Wedding days move FAST. Having even a few minutes where it's just the two of you can become one of the most meaningful parts of the entire day.

Finally Saying "I Do"

Then it was ceremony time!

Their friends and family gathered at South Haven Creations to watch Olivia and Noah finally say I DO.

One of the things I notice from behind my camera isn't always what's happening directly in front of me.

Sometimes it's what's happening behind the couple.

It's Mom wiping away a tear. Dad smiling. A grandparent watching quietly. Your best friend trying not to cry.

Watching Olivia and Noah's guests as they witnessed this moment was so sweet. These were the people who had watched their story unfold, and now they were there to watch them become husband and wife.

Sneaking Away to South Beach for Wedding Photos

After the ceremony, we snuck away from the venue for something I had been looking forward to all day…

Wedding photos at the beach!

Being in South Haven gave us the perfect opportunity to head over to South Beach for Olivia and Noah's couples portraits.

And these two KILLED IT.

There's something about getting away from the venue for a few minutes after the ceremony. The nerves are gone. You're officially married. You finally get a second together—and that's usually when some of my favorite photos happen.

The beach gave us a completely different look from the venue and made their wedding gallery even more special.

If you're planning a South Haven wedding, taking a little time in your timeline for beach wedding portraits is something I would absolutely recommend.

Back to the Celebration

Once we returned to South Haven Creations, it was time to celebrate!

Olivia and Noah shared their first dance, spent time visiting with their guests and eventually shared those special parent dances—the father-daughter dance and mother-son dance.

After a full day of getting ready, first looks, vows, the ceremony, beach portraits and celebrating with everyone they love, it was finally time to just enjoy being married.

And what a day it was.
