1. Asylum Lake Preserve
This is one of my all-time favorite locations, hands down. Depending on the season, you can find wildflowers, tall grass, beautiful trees, open fields, and even water. It’s the perfect mix of rustic and romantic, and it works so well for families, seniors, or couples looking for something a little more peaceful and natural. It’s definitely one of my go-to spots.
2. Downtown Kalamazoo
If you're after more of a city vibe, I absolutely love taking clients downtown. We’ll wander through alleys, find fun architectural details, tall buildings, stairways, murals, and so many hidden gems that make for unique and bold images. It’s especially great for senior sessions or couples who want something a little more urban and modern.
3. South Haven
In the summer, my car practically drives itself here—I’m in South Haven so often! Between the soft sandy beach, the iconic lighthouse, the tall beach grass, and the adorable little downtown area, it’s a dreamy spot for sessions. Whether you want that golden hour beach glow or a mix of city and lake vibes, South Haven delivers every time.
4. Bow in the Clouds Preserve
This little gem is right near me and has such a sweet, peaceful feel. There’s a beautiful open area, a darling little building that makes a perfect backdrop, and lots of natural beauty all around. I’ve even done my own family photos here! It’s great if you’re looking for a quiet location with a mix of charm and nature.
5. A New Hidden Gem
Sometimes a client will ask me to shoot somewhere I’ve never been—and I LOVE that. Exploring a new location brings a fresh spark of creativity and makes the session feel like an adventure. Whether it’s their family farm, a cool little park, or a secret spot they love, I’m always excited to shoot in new places and make it uniquely theirs.
